Wool felt being resilient in nature it is an ideal product for shock absorbing. Felt is designed to smooth out or damp shock impulse, and dissipate kinetic energy uniformly. Shock resistant felt pad is widely used in automobile industry sometimes under the dashboard for shock-absorbing. Sometimes also used inside/under the seats. Small pieces of wool felt are used inside air filter of the carburetor of the car. It is also used as athletic shock absorbing pad where the impact of body weight is quickly absorbed by felt.  Shock absorbing felt is also used in building structures of earthquake prone areas and it is regularly used in many industrial machines.
